Event title:
In-person study together session - using the Pomodoro Technique
Event description
Event description
This is an opportunity to bring your work to a quiet supportive space and get things done along with a few other students.
We use the Pomodoro Technique because it is an effective approach. We work in short bursts, taking regular breaks to have a quick breather.
If you are new to this approach, it will be ideal for you.
You'll need to bring your laptop and have a clear idea of what study tasks you want to achieve.
Make it manageable!
For example, it could be:
- to read and make notes on a text or article
- to review your notes from a recent lecture and write them up/summarise them
- to begin to write up a section of an assignment
- review your revision notes
Please arrive in good time so that you are ready to begin at 2 pm. If you've changed your mind and are not attending PLEASE cancel so that someone else can take your place!
Student comments about Study-together sessions:
"Actually got the reading done that I'd been putting off for three weeks "
"This was a really good workshop. it showed me that I need to take proper breaks away from my desk, and how working in short bursts kept my mind alert."
"Loved this, couldn't find people to sit quietly normally so this is like so good for me."
