Event description

Event description

The essential workshop for all PGRs getting ready to defend their thesis.

Are you nervous about your upcoming viva? This skills session will give you all the information you need to know to prepare for it - and maybe even enjoy it!

We'll go through the timeline from thesis submission through to selecting and nominating your examiners, up to the viva and what comes after. You'll get tips and tricks on how to prepare for your viva, how to avoid some of the common pitfalls, and advice on strategies to make the most of your time with your examiners.

Our PGR skills sessions are designed as informal, friendly spaces where you can ask questions and get tailored advice. We run these sessions as hybrid events, so you can attend either on Teams or in-person. We book these events for two hours - the first hour is a presentation, with the second hour free for questions.

These sessions are delivered by Dr Sarah Greer, the PGR Development Lead with the Doctoral College.

If you have any queries about this session, please get in touch by emailing s.greer@hull.ac.uk.
