Writing for The Conversation – how to get your research noticed
The Conversation, is an online platform for researchers (including PGRs) to share their expertise by publishing public facing articles. This is a great platform for sharing your research with a wider audience. The Conversation’s professional editors and journalist assist the researchers with writing of the articles. Once it has been approved by the academic the article can then be freely republished by any other media outlets. As a result articles are often very well read (most get over 10,000 reads and 100K+ reads are common).
Mark Lorch’s (Professor of Science Communication) ~50 Conversation articles have received over 10 million reads, leading to book deals, media interviews and consultancy work with Microsoft. In this session he shares his tips and tricks for writing and publishing readable, sharable articles that get you and your work noticed.
There will be time afterwards for questions.
