Event description

Event description

Module Leaders receive their Module Evaluation Questionnaire (MEQ) results in an automated PDF results report from the EvaSys survey system and they are expected to understand and interpret this content.  Additionally, the institution centrally produces aggregated data to offer context under the proviso that the calculations behind it are being understood.

This sprint will provide an overview of the descriptive statistics included in the PDF results report and clarify the calculations used to represent student satisfaction.  This is to support staff being able to interpret and review the results to inform their written “Module Reflection” that is used to close the feedback loop with their students.  Information on 'the closing the loop' process will be provided.

It is only with a healthy response rate that the MEQ results are given credence and so the sprint will also discuss the processes in place to encourage good response rates, aligning with Bennet & Nair’s paper “A recipe for effective participation rates for web-based surveys”.

The sprint is most suited to new Module Leaders and those who would like a better understanding of the MEQ data provided to them and what they should do with it.  It is not intended that the sprint will be teaching statistical techniques.

The sprint will direct attendees to guidance materials available on the Learning and Teaching Essentials Canvas page for Module Evaluation Questionnaires (MEQs).
