Event description

The conference will focus on how, through assessment and feedback, we ensure our students embrace the challenge of higher learning. We will also explore how we respond to student feedback and enhance teaching and learning practice so they may 'learn independently, explore new avenues with confidence, and think in a critical, creative, and enterprising manner, enabling [them] to function effectively in a complex and ever-changing society' (The University of Hull Graduate Attributes, 2018, pg 1).

The conference will also be the launch event for the Learning and Teaching Academy with Director Professor Graham Scott outlining how the Academy aims to develop, recognise and celebrate teaching excellence.

PVC Education, Professor Becky Huxley-Binns will deliver her first keynote at the University 'Generation Z and Graduate Futures' and 2019-20 Student Union President, Isobel Hall will present on research into the Student Perspective on Assessment and Feedback. Students as partners is a theme running through the day with a number of sessions being codelivered with students as well as the organising team working with students in the planning and hosting of the event.

In celebration of National Creative Writing Day, we will close proceedings with a Poetry as Plenary delivered by University of Hull English and Creative Writing Graduate, Joe Hakim.
