Come along to this workshop and learn more about using the features of MS Word that can help you format your work more efficiently and consistently - see how much time and effort you will save, giving you more time for research.
By the end of the workshop you will be able to:
- Use styles in MS Word. This enables you to:
- Automate formatting to meet departmental/faculty guidelines
- Control how headings and text appear (this will save you LOTS of time)
- Create new styles to suit your needs
- Create an automatic table of contents
- Use breaks and section breaks. This enables you to:
- Start new pages/columns
- Vary page numbering within a document (e.g. i, ii, iii, 1, 2, 3,)
- To have landscape and portrait pages within the same document
- Edit page margins (for printing purposes)
- Saving formats to a template
