The Acting Vice Chancellor, Professor Glenn Burgess, and the Lord Mayor of Hull John Hewitt, would like to invite you to the launch of our new book ‘Hull: Culture, History, Place’. Written and edited by University authors and published by Liverpool University Press, the book celebrates the city’s unique past and how this shapes the city's present. Telling the story of Hull from the earliest settlement to post war resilience and recovery, this book shows how and why Hull has been a place of importance, significance and success throughout its history. The Panel Q&A discussion will include commentators from the city from political and cultural circles. Members of the Editorial and Writing Team and Liverpool University Press will also be in attendance. We hope you are able to come and join us and are looking forward to seeing you there. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
We are also launching the new series of OpenCampus Culture Cafe Talks based on the book; for further details on the talks and to book you place please click here
