Event description

3. Liberation Theology and Sexual Identities

Tuesday May 30 2017 - 6.30pm - 8.30pm

Rev Dr Chris Dowd (URC Chaplain)

The Christian Church has been deeply divided about Human sexualities over the last 50 years and has been seen by many as prudish, judgmental and hypocritical. But what if the solution to the Church coming into the 21st century on this matter is already part of its DNA? This talk will explore Liberation Theology and look to see how it can help the Church begin to see the sacred in sex.

Rev Dr Chris Dowd is a minister in the United Reformed Church and also part of the Chaplaincy Team. He is currently co-writing a book on the pastoral care for transgender and non-binary Christians which will be published next March.
